Wildlands Enhanced
This is a requested mod. More animals. Better trophies. Smarter hunting. Wildlands Enhanced is a gameplay overhaul for theHunter: Call of the Wild that increases wildlife populations, improves trophy opportunities, extends rendering distance, and rebalances animal behavior to create a more immersive and rewarding hunting experience. The goal is simple: make every reserve feel more alive while preserving the core hunting gameplay.

✔ 2x Reserve Population Doubles the number of animals across every reserve. More encounters without turning the game into a shooting gallery. ✔ ~10% Increased Diamond Spawns Better odds of finding trophy animals. Greatly improves long-term grinding while keeping Diamonds rare enough to stay exciting. ✔ 510m Animal Render Distance Animals remain visible much farther away. Ideal for spotting across lakes, valleys and open terrain. ✔ Rebalanced Animal Senses Scent detection reduced by 10% Vision reduced by 10% Hearing reduced by 10% Animals are still alert, but minor mistakes are slightly more forgiving. ✔ Adjusted Spook Distances Tent fast travel spooks animals within 200m Weapon fire spooks animals within 300m This creates a more natural hunting experience while preventing unrealistic close-range tent farming. ✔ 2x Deployables Double the maximum number of deployable items. Place more tents, tripods, tree stands and hunting structures.
Installation
Manual installation only Download the mod. Extract the archive. Copy the included dropzone folder into your theHunter: Call of the Wild installation directory. Launch the game.
You must delete your old population files and populate new ones to pick up the changes
Uninstallation
Delete the following files:
dropzone/ai/aisystem.aisystunec
dropzone/global/global_animal_types.bl dropzone/global/global_animal_types.blo
dropzone/settings/hp_settings/animal_senses.bin
dropzone/settings/hp_settings/reserve_*.bin (remove ALL reserve_1.bin through reserve_21.bin files)
Compatibility
✔ Works with all reserves. ✔ Manual installation only. ❌ Not compatible with other mods that modify the same AI, reserve population, animal settings or deployable limits.
Notes
This mod is designed to enhance the hunting experience—not eliminate the challenge. Animals remain cautious, trophy hunting still requires patience, and positioning continues to matter. The increased population simply makes the world feel richer and more active. Manual installation is currently required. Due to an issue with Vortex not installing .bin files correctly, a Vortex installer is not available at this time.
